If you follow actress Zendaya on Instagram you’ll have recently seen her post a warning about her new TV show, Euphoria. In it she warns that the show is for a mature audience, and is “a raw and honest portrait of addiction, anxiety and the difficulties of navigating live today,” urging fans to only watch if they can “handle it”.

When will Euphoria be airing in the UK?
Euphoria begun in the US on July 16, 2019, but there’s not currently a confirmed airdate yet. However it’ll definitely be coming to the UK later this year.
How can I watch Euphoria in the UK?
Show reps confirmed to Bustle that you’ll be able to watch Euphoria on Sky Atlantic. It’s likely that like other major HBO shows (including Game of Thrones or Big Little Lies) that Euphoria will also be released on Now TV.

Some are billing the new series as a US version of Skins. Based on the Israeli miniseries of the same name, HBO have said their new teen drama will follow “a group of high school students as they navigate love and friendships in a world of drugs, sex, trauma and social media”.
Zendaya (Spider-Man: Far From Home, The Greatest Showman) will will play Rue Bennett, a 17-year-old recovering drug addict, with an ensemble cast playing her school mates, family and acquaintances.
Speaking about the series and its controversial content, creator Sam Levinson has said: “There are going to be parents who are going to be totally fucking freaked out.” Euphoria will show scenes of statutory rape, graphic sex and drug overdose, with cast member Zendaya posting a warning on Instagram saying that the show portrays graphic scenes that “can be triggering”, and that the show is for “mature audiences”, so viewers should only watch if they feel they “can handle it”.
Who else in the Euphoria cast?
Alongside Zendaya as Rue Bennett, the ensemble cast includes Maude Apatow (yes, she is the daughter of Judd. She’s playing Rue’s childhood friend Lexi), Angus Cloud (playing Fezco, a local drug dealer), Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, Algee Smith and Sydney Sweeney.
What are critics saying about it?
With the show airing in the US reviews have started to come in, and they’ve been fairly positive. Euphoria is currently sitting on a 67 percent favourable review on Metacritic.
In the Chicago Sun Times Richard Roeper wrote: “If the second half of this story is as compelling as the first, this will end up being one of the best series of the year”, and in Paste Magazine Amy Glynn said: “It’s a gripping performance by a charismatic young actress with a very good supporting cast and a tightly woven artistic vision.”
How is Drake involved in Euphoria?
Drake has been confirmed as an executive producer (as has his manager Future the Prince) however it’s unclear yet how much input the rapper has had in the show.
